About

Name: Jacob Turner
Age: 26
Location: Denver Metro Area

Who am I? I’m Jacob Turner (but you’ve probably already gathered that). I’m a Master of Library and Information Science student at the University of Denver’s Morgridge College of Education, and a graduate of Hendrix College (BA in Religious Studies, minor in Computer Science) in Conway, Arkansas.

Didn’t this blog go by a different name? Yes, at one point this blog has been called Squared Pi Productions, then later just Squared Pi. Fun fact: those old domain names still redirect here to JacobTurner.me, if you happen to know them (or just take a very easy guess).

What’s your life like outside of work? In my “free time”, I enjoy listening to music, going to concerts, cheering on the Colorado Avalanche, watching TV shows and YouTube, filmmaking, and sampling every pizza place in existence.

What’s this blog like? Posts on my blog focus on my personal opinions on current events or topics related to my current field of study, either academically or professionally.

What quotes do you live by? Two quotes, actually, one from a real person and one from a fictional character:

I am, and always will be, the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes, and the dreamer of improbable dreams.

The Eleventh Doctor (Doctor Who)

Be a nuisance where it counts…Do your part to inform and stimulate the public to join your action. Be depressed, discouraged and disappointed at failure and the disheartening effects of ignorance, greed, corruption and bad politics—but never give up.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas

This is nice and all, but I want to see something more professional. Alright, that’s fine. Please click here.
