Week 12: A Final Word

IN THIS WEEK’S POST: We’ve reached the end, everyone.

On May 11th, 2016, I had the opportunity to  visit the offices of the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Admittedly, I was nervous, having had to identify myself to the guard at the gate, and only having been there once before.

On August 5th, 2016, I find myself typing up my last words as an intern in one of the best offices in the state. An office where the guard lets me in with an exchange of a wave. Where I feel like I have truly been able to contribute not just to the office, but to United Methodist churches across the state of Arkansas.

My time as an intern here could not have been a better experience for me. But to be honest, I feel like the structure and format of this blog isn’t conducive to a full retrospective. Therefore, I will be posting a much longer post about my time on my personal blog, JacobTurner.me, in the next day or two.

However, before I close, I want to say this: I consider myself blessed to have been a part of the staff at the Conference office, even if only for a little while. I have learned quite a bit from all of them, and hopefully I’ve been able to provide a couple of new ideas for the days ahead.

So to them, I say: thank you. For everything. The memories, the experiences, the inside jokes. The good, bad and downright scary times. You all are a blessing to the Conference, and I sincerely appreciate that I have had the opportunity to work alongside you, in service to God and the United Methodist Church in Arkansas.

Until next time,
Jacob
